New Line Officers

New Line Officers were elected on the 2nd Monday in December:
Chief . . . . . . . . Jim Currier
Assist Chief . . Jason Perry
1st Captain . . Eric Ross
2nd Captain . John Harvey
Lieutenant . . D-Ray Saul
Line Officer nominations were held on the same night due
to no quorum of board members in November. Nominations
were heard from the floor, and then elections began.

Elections

Department elections will be held the 1st monday in december at 1900 hrs; there was no quorum last month, so nominations from the floor and recommendations from the election committee, including elections, will be held. Those interested in running for line officer must attend. Elections will be held; elections include Chief, Assistant Chief, 1st Captain, 2nd Captain, Lieutenant, Truck Maint., and Building Maintenance. Chaplain and Rescue Sergeant will be appointed by the Chairperson.

Christmas Parade

Christmas Parade will be this Saturday, 01dec07; lineup will be at 1730 so as not to conflict with the g.c.football game ... go blue devils!!! ... parade will begin at 1900; those interested in taking a truck or riding contact an officer or call the station at 995-2035

Record Number of Calls

We are over 85 calls at this juncture. Most have been EMS related calls. For those who would like to participate more, contact the Training Officer for important information on "First Responder" and "Emergency Medical Technician" classes.

Nominations - Elections

Nominations will be held in November. Elections will be in December. Be sure to attend in December so that your vote will count. On-going training on 1st and 3rd Monday nights at 1900; maybe an extra training or two during the week for those who can make it. Contact the Training Officer for further information.

EVDT Class

The Emergency Vehicle Driver Training class was held at FBVFD in May. A 90%+ attendance rate was achieved. All current operational drivers were recertified, and three new FFs were also certified as reserve drivers. For more information on becoming a Firefighter at FBVFD, contact the station at 995-2035 and leave a message.

First Responder: Celebrates First Year On-Line

Unit 711 celebrated her 1st year on-line as Fort Blackmore VFD's First Responder vehicle. Presently, she ran approx 40+ calls in her first year of service. 711 has run everything from Patient Check to Fatalities. Chief Roger Brickey resided his Chief Officer position in June of 2007. Jason Perry became the Acting Chief. Chief Perry will be Body Number 700. You may email Chief Perry for congratulations or questions.
