Cloudsplitter 100
Units of Fort Blackmore VFD and Dungannon VFD will participate in assisting the runners on the Cloudsplitter 100 and sister races. The dates are
12th - and - 13th of October 2019 at the Devil's Bathtub Parking Area. FBVFD will assist runners lost or injured as the need becomes evident.
Start time in Norton, VA, is 0800 Saturday morning, on the 12th of October, 2019. Ending time is 1738 hrs Sunday, 13th of October, 2019, at the Devil's Fork Parking Lot. In the event that a runner requires EVAC by ground or chopper, Race Coordinators will assign a Search Crew. Crews from Duffield Fire & Rescue will provide Emergency Life Saving, and will be assisted by Fort Blackmore VFD and Dungannon VFD. Sometimes difficulties present themselves for locating lost and or injured runners. Fire Departments will be equipped with radios to contact search party members and Scott County Central Dispatch, providing that radios can reach the designated frequencies. Some areas of the High Knob area, including Scott County, are often difficult for radio communications. Every effort will be attempted to maintain radio contact with Fire Departments and Fire & Rescue Departments, including Central [located in Gate City, VA.]
