Old Visions of the Future

Fort Blackmore Fire Department became an EMS Agency {1256} with the Virginia Department of Emergency Services on 26 May 2007.  Currently, the Department is not participating in First Responder activities.  Perhaps in the future, with the advent of multiple sets of Firefighters, this Department will once again seek to gain Agency recognition.  Sadly, we do not currently service the county as an EMS Agency; however, we always seek to improve our firefighting abilities.

Fort Blackmore Fire Department, in conjuction with Duffield Fire and Rescue, will conduct Search Scenarios,  Map and Arc Map reading refreshers at Natural Tunnel State Park on Saturday, 07 May 2016, at 0900 hrs. All Firefighters are urged to attend.

Fire Department Joint Exercise: Sat. 07 May 2016

Fort Blackmore Fire Department, in conjunction with Duffield Fire and Rescue, will have a training at 0900 hrs., Saturday, 07 May 2016, at Natural Tunnel State Park.  Topo Maps and Arc Mapping will be reviewed.  A series of three search scenarios will be conducted.


All Firefighters are urged to attend.


Wear appropriate attire.
